Principal functions: to coordinate and administer the overall ministry of Christian Education for all age groups in the church, including Sunday School, small group Bible studies, children's Bible studies, and Vacation Bible School; to provide leadership and ministry to children and their families; to coordinate all children's programming of the church; and to assist with or conduct worship services.
Children's Ministries: A) Lead and/or coordinate a worship service for children during Kid's Church. B) Coordinate and oversee children's weekly Bible studies; C) Participate in and oversee children's visitation outreach; D) Recruit, train, evaluate, and encourage, with input from the Board of Christian education, all volunteers serving as teachers, teacher assistants, leaders of children's Bible studies, and Vacation Bible School workers; E) Assist in coordinating church nursery and preschool ministries in cooperation with the Director of Preschool Ministries; F) review and select curricula, with input from the Board of Christian Education, for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and children's Bible studies; G) Provide regular reports to the Board of Christian Education.
Christian Education: A) Oversee and coordinate all the efforts of the Board of Christian Education, including attending all meetings of the CE Board; B) recruit, train, evaluate, and encourage, with input from the Board of Christian Education, all volunteers serving as teachers, teacher assistants, and facilitators of small group studies/ACTS classes. C) Meet with other pastors of the church to coordinate efforts for accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Church; D) evaluate and recommend resource materials for use in all educational programs of the Church (Sunday School, small group studies/ACTS classes); E)Assist in leading those who attend Simpson Creek Baptist Church to a deeper understanding of the Bible and its application in life; to promote Sunday School and Bible study attendance; and to provide avenues for training in evangelism and community outreach.
