On a Sunday evening, we held a "Family Devotion Night". We divided our congregation into four groups. Each group had a family who was in charge of leading the devotions. In preparation, we put together a devotion about being the "Salt of the Earth". Included was a Bible passage, a Bible story that the children could act out, and object lesson (we had salted and unsalted popcorn: to discuss how salt adds flavor) and concluded with prayer time. We felt that it was helpful for families to participate together in a family devotion, in order to be more motivated to do them at home.
