INCM Insight
Judy Comstock

December is filled with emotions. Many of us start frantically shopping for loved ones before the leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner are stored in plastic containers. There's an urgency to wrap and mail gifts to family members and friends. The decorating challenge is on. Who can string the most lights in the neighborhood? December holds a lot of "stuff". This year, I want to focus on the simple joys of Christmas…the smell of greenery on the banister and songs from the children's musical. My daily advent devotionals will remind me of the reason for this season. Jesus' impact on the world will be evident in the candlelight service. And for you, I am praying that the Prince of Peace will make himself known.

This month's Insight addresses important topics. Changes may result after reading about food allergies and the articles submitted by two of our CPC Partners. Hosting a Religion in the Public Schools seminar may be your decision after considering Finn Larsen's article. I want to thank these writers and the many others who have contributed in 2009.

We are checking the final details for CPC. It's not too late to register! I hope to see you in Nashville or San Diego for this life-changing conference. (www.incm.org)

Mark Smith The Bible Pure & Simple: The Priority of God's Word in the Classroom
By Mark Smith

The focus of any Sunday school class should be the teaching of God's Word from God's Word. Kids and teachers bring their Bibles to class but sadly they are rarely opened and studied these days.
Dawn Heckert Making Conversations Count
by Dawn Heckert

Karen Bransgrove Allergy Alert
by Karen Bransgrove

What's the harm in serving a little snack? After all, the children are getting a little restless and placing food before them seems like a great idea to take up some time. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Christianity in Public Schools: Our Only Hope
by Finn Laursen

Is there any hope for our public schools? As the battle for the minds of our children continues in our postmodern, "godless" culture, our schools have become a major battleground.
