Toy Box Leadership by Ron Hunter, Jr. and Michael E. Waddell
Published by Thomas Nelson
In this book, ten different toys are used to make the connection to ten leadership qualities. It is especially effective for children's ministry leaders. I used a Rubik's Cube at our recent staff retreat as we talked about the value of making the right choices. We will consider the benefits of strategically setting up our events by looking at the lessons connected with Green Army Men toys. This book facilitates immediate use without hours of preparation.
Letters from a Skeptic Letters from a Skeptic (A Son Wrestles with His Father's Questions about Christianity) by Dr. Gregory A. Boyd and Edward K. Boyd
Published by Life Journey (Cook)
The theological insight of the son is balanced with sincere compassion for his aging father's spiritual state. This book reflects a passion for defending our faith and some intelligent exceptions to each response. I plan to pass the book onto a family member but will likely purchase another copy as a resource book.
